ABOUT THE ARTIST

IMG_E2915.JPG

Born 1992.

I am Paresh Thukrul. I was born in a small place called Rajapur . That place is like nature's god gift. I spent my childhood there walking in wood and fields of grains and trees of mangos. There is a seashore beside my village, we used to spend evenings watching sea tides, boats and sunset. The memories of that space and my people would never go away wherever I go; they will stay with me and always come into my mind and automatically in my art. These small things had a great impression on my life and that roots where I am from are getting stronger by the time .I think the art which I created is from my inner world that I lived. That always goes toward roots.

I always think that most artists have an impression of their past life. Their experiences, memories, their all surroundings where they grew up, that all things eventually come into their painting, like mine. I saw the big sea ,water , the boats and that vastness of the big sea is still in my mind. I always think that the big canvas can justify the vastness of that picture.  When the viewer stands in front of my painting, they should experience the same thing that I experience. The viewer should get the visual treat of that big canvas, the color and the harmony.

In my college days I worked in watercolors most of the time, as time went on the oil color medium came into my hand and I feel like that is my medium .I used to paint in oil colors now with many sittings. As the requirement of the subject. Like the requirement of medium, the process is to paint in many layers. Once the old layer is touch dry the next layer comes, this process took many days, sometimes months for completion of painting and that is the beauty of the medium.

There is nothing to explain in my painting but I paint it so the viewer can visit the painting many times for that visual experience.
